If you use our set in your ride or park, we would love a credit!

Whew, it's over - after numerous weeks working with the object editor, 3D modeling, texture selecting, file transfers, text files, video editing, and trying to find time to do real life work and eat in between, Marnetmar and I, finally present, the Dark Ride Set.

As the editor evolves, we will update this collection to include improvement of standard object behavior.

Version 1.0 Notes (tested on North American Version w/Patch 2):
Wall/Roof objects will stack nicely, however, they will not automatically "jump" to the next valid location. Just use your Shift Key and and they will line up easily (you will still see the object jump in even increments).

The Global Delete function is not implemented. You'll have to use the single trashcan (or right click) to delete each object.

No Collision Detection. That's correct, and it's a good thing however, we wouldn't recommend placing a wall on a path, unless you want your peeps to magically walk through solid objects.

The Onyx set "may" appear a different color (on occasion), this is an unknown issue right now, but it usually corrects itself after a few moments.

IMPORTANT:
The Dark Ride set was thoroughly tested between a number of computers. Although we don't foresee any problems, it's best to back up any saved coasters, parks etc. If you feel any of this scenery is causing havoc with your game, you can easily remove both sets by going in to your Program Files/Rollercoaster Tycoon 3/Styles/Themed/ folder, and look for the two Dark Ride folders to delete. Remember, if you download these sets, you are accepting full responsibility, as these add-ons are not supported by Frontier or Atari.

Terrifying Tips:

~ The Pitch Black walls/roofs as well as the Black Vertical and Horizontal Tunnels are great for creating dark rooms as well as hiding props.

~ Use any of the standard RCT3 building scenery or our castle and stone sets for the external foundation of your ride, and use all the black styles for the inside.

~ Remember, although it appears dark inside, it's not "true" darkness, meaning, you will see your coaster track, but with black walls and tunnels, you can block a most of 'what's ahead'.

~ You can use the supplied roof titles and shift them just slightly above ground to cover existing paths. Peeps will still think they're on the real path, but now you have even more variety to dress up your walk-ways.

~ Day or night - it will be pretty dark inside, however, nighttime works best if you want to add lights near props for some momentary bright "chills'.

~ The black panel props (Klowns, Indian, etc.) work best against black environments. Objects, or non-black walls that are directly behind your panel will reveal the black border - you want that hidden!

~ Although we've developed this around a dark ride theme, there's no law saying a a good deal of these items won't be useful outside! :-)
